Dark and moody, or light and airy photography? If you keep shooting long enough, you will find that your work naturally gravitates toward one or the other. Regardless of the genre, your style will emerge and your work will show a noticeable feel or mood.

Same Subject, Different Feel
Just by changing the background and foundation, this subject takes on a very different feel. The lighting I used was the same window. And, in fact, the subject is sitting on the same table with the same distance from the light. The only things different are the back drop, the foundation, and the fact that I cropped in a little closer in the lighter image and added some purple larkspur. I also adjusted the binds to allow some direct light on to the backdrop. Same subject, two very different moods photographed about ten minutes apart.
