Fifty years seems like a long time. Yet, if you happen to be the Earth, it's nothing. In 1970, it was decided that we needed a special day to recognize the important of our environment; a reminder that we must take good care of it. How wonderful! How sad that the human race needed (and still needs) a reminder to safeguard our environment which ultimately benefits our quality of life. Thanks to Senator Gaylord Nelson, our environment is better off. Happy Earth Day 50th Anniversary! Here are a few of the reasons why I'm grateful for Planet Earth.
