Ellis Lake {Yuba City Photographer}

Fog on Ellis Lake created mystery and solitude the morning I visited. With a fresh coffee in hand and my camera, of course, I began walking along the perimeter. A low thick cloud of water droplets obscured the usual visibility of the lake and the waterfowl living there. However, most of them lay sleeping on the banks. Few people were there as I drew in to my own thoughts. Quiet. Peaceful. Familiar.

The air soon exploded with sea gulls squawking, ducks quacking, and geese honking. A fellow visitor had brought his cherished bag of bread crumbs to scatter. The local residents swam or flew making quite a ruckus to reach the familiar bread.

But it wasn't long before peace ensued on the lake once again.
