Mono Lake Sunrise | northern California landscape photographer

Earlier this month I traveled to the eastern Sierra to catch some fall color, shoot the Milky Way, and photograph all the wonderful landscapes available in the area. One of my favorite mornings was capturing the Mono Lake sunrise. As with any sunrise shoot, we were up early and to our destination long before sunrise. In October, that's not too early. At least not as early as the sunrise shoots in June when the days are nice and long! The Eastern Sierra is a popular place this time of year because unbeknownst to many, California has lovely fall color there and in many other areas. You'll see more of those scenes in future posts here.On the morning of the Mono Lake sunrise shoot, we were greeted with a few clouds creating some interest in the sky. I've noted the time at which each image was taken as the sky and light changed so fast.
