Side Light | Lemon Rosemary Bread

moody side light on loaf of lemon rosemary bread When beginning photography, one of the earliest things you hear is that you need to learn about light. When I first heard that, I thought it was sort of ridiculous. Light is light, right? But, the important part as related to photography is to learn to see light the way your camera does. And, of course, to capture it in the best way possible. In these images, I have used side light. Side light can be dramatic and moody, but it doesn't have to be. Side light exposes all the nooks and crannies, the form and shape, the dimension and texture of your subject. After learning about light these past few years, it's easy to see how important light can be in creating the mood and feel of an image.moody side light on lemon rosemary bread  George Eastman said it best, I think: ” Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.”  ~  George Eastman moody side light on loaf of bread triptych moody side light on lemon rosemary bread  To receive my brand new fabulous FREE introductory mini guide on LIGHT, just subscribe to my newsletter.
