Textures and Tones | northern California fine art photographer

As a nature lover, taking a walk to enjoy the surroundings is a given. Sometimes we enjoy the expanse of nature, but forget the details, the textures and tones. On this particular morning, I set out with my Canon 100L macro lens to capture some of the foggy morning along the northern California coast. That lens is so versatile. It's fantastic for macro, but also a wonderful lens for general shooting.  I was able to capture the details of the dewdrops, the texture of the tree bark, and the tones of the layers of grasses on the hillside. All hand-held. I love how you can see the blades of grass reflected in the drop of dew hanging off the blade of grass! It's really a marvel when you think about the endless number of textures and tones that mother nature provides.The next time you have an opportunity to enjoy nature, be sure to look for the textures and tones of the landscape, big and small. 

If you can't be in awe of Mother Nature, there's something wrong with you.
