Oxbow Bend | September 2017 | northern California landscape photographer
From blue hour through sunrise and into the morning glow, Oxbow Bend put on quite a show for us. During Magic in the Tetons, a women's workshop retreat, presented by landscape photographer Kristen Ryan, we covered a lot of ground in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. One of my favorite locations was Oxbow Bend. To be sure, it's a popular, iconic (crowded) location in the Grand Tetons National Park. With good reason.
Monterey Bay Walk-and-Shoot
While visiting the central coast, we went on a little Monterey Bay Walk-and-Shoot. We stayed mostly in the Pacific Grove area, and there was plenty to see. Have you ever tried to capture the waves when they are making just the right action you want to capture? It's tough! You have to anticipate what the water is going to do. Needless to say, I had plenty of images to choose from when it came to water patterns as the waves spilled over the rocks.Then we ventured down to the wharf.
What I Learned Photographing the Night Sky {northern California photographer}
I'd like to share with you a bit of a tutorial of what I learned photographing the night sky. Recently, I've taken some time to learn how to photograph in the (almost) dark nights. Because there is so much ambient light in our world now, it's next to impossible to find a truly dark sky which is needed for the natural light of the stars to really pop. Although I live in the country, it is still difficult to find a sky with little ambient light.
Glacier Bay NP, Alaska - Landscapes & Wildlife | Day 4
Day 4 of our Glacier Bay NP trip was again full of wildlife and landscapes, and a most amazing glacier. The David B traveled along the Muir Inlet to the Reid Inlet passing mountains, icebergs, whales, assorted birds, sea otters, and arriving at Reid Glacier. We photographed from the boat, the skiff, and on land. There was beautiful scenery every direction we looked!
