Waterfalls Workshop

Nadeen was able to share her insights and perspectives for the best locations to photograph the falls. We arrived early and visited four parts of the falls, saw some wildlife and ended with a fun lunch. Nadeen was very patient, prepared, humble and helpful throughout the day. Waterfalls can be tricky to photograph and Nadeen offered great tips on bracketing followed by a video tutorial on how to blend images using Adobe photoshop. Overall I had a great time and even made some new friends!

Nadeen is very knowledgeable and was always there to answer questions or help with the composition of the scene. Just got back from a 3 day California Central Coast Adventure Workshop with Nadeen. The workshop was amazing. Nadeen and co-leader, Amy Ames, did a fantastic job in scoping out the area prior to the workshop to identify the very best locations to shoot and the best times to be at each location. Each location provided spectacular photography opportunities. Nadeen and Amy are amazing teachers, advisers and cheerleaders. I learned so much from both of them and will be a better photographer because of them. I can't wait to take another workshop with either or both of them again. I am happy to provide them both my highest recommendation.

Adventure Along the Central California Coast was a dream come true. Amy Ames and Nadeen Flynn created a thoughtful and well planned trip. The sites visited were breath-takingly beautiful. Time at each site worked well for all of us. Leaving a site was hard, but knowing another lay ahead, made it easier to go. Amy and Nadeen gave gentle criticism and offered ways to remedy any problems they saw. We felt that Amy and Nadeen were there for us and not for themselves, giving all their time to help us to improve our shots, be it exposure or compositional ideas. I would definitely attend another workshop of theirs. Their thoughtfulness and dedication to their craft was an inspiration to all of us.

I recently attended the Adventure Along the Central California Coast workshop with Nadeen. It was a well-planned out trip with tons of ideal shooting locations to take photos. She taught us new techniques, gave us lectures on topics of interest, critiqued our photos in real time and gave us suggestions on how to improve them. Nadeen, I want to start off by telling you how much I enjoyed this workshop. It was chock full of very pertinent information I could use right away. Your videos were well done and not too long or too short. I especially enjoyed watching you set up the shots and seeing your thought process as to why one thing worked and something else did not. Your comments to me were kind and yet straight forward as to where I might improve a set up, lighting or exposure. I have become much more critical of the way I am viewing my compositions, as well as others. I’ve been noticing the lighting, textures and also asking myself, “ Where/what is the ‘hero’ here” and how I might have set up the shot differently. I have saved all the videos you sent us and plan on refreshing my Photoshop/Lightroom skills from time to time. Thank you again for sharing you expertise.

I am so glad I took Nadeen's Life Exposed Still Life Photography Online Workshop. Nadeen isn't just an expert photographer helping others, she is a retired teacher, who is a skilled photographer. Her workshop includes lesson plans, assignments(homework) and an interactive private group. She presents a lot of information in a clear and concise way with each week building upon the prior week. Lessons contain multiple pages of beautiful PDF files and videos in which she shows her set ups, workflow and post-processing techniques. She interacts in a timely way in the private group during the class, giving more helpful hints, critical assessments and complimentary evaluations. I would highly recommend Nadeen's Still Life Workshop!

Life Exposed Still Life Workshop & Retreat

Are you interested in Still Life photography? You owe it to yourself to do a workshop with Nadeen Flynn. I recently had the good fortune to attend her workshop and retreat, "Life Exposed". From the moment we arrived at the beautiful house to the day we left, we were treated like royalty. Lovely light filled rooms and meals prepared to perfection. Nadeen had every detail of this retreat planned and organized. We all learned so much from the lessons. We each received a prepared catalog with each days lessons spelled out and Nadeen would set up an example and we would then do our own set ups to photograph. If we had questions she took as much time as we needed to help us with whatever we struggled with. The planned outings to local places of interest were an added bonus. This gave us the opportunity to do "found still lifes". Everyday was filled with lessons, down time to just be in the space and wonderful meals. This was one of the best experiences I have had on a workshop/retreat. Thank you, Nadeen.

Good things come to those who take a Nadeen Flynn Workshop! From beginning to end, and everything in between, Nadeen’s planning, organization and personal touch was perfection. The location, accommodations, food, and attention to detail was so well executed. I had such a wonderful time! With Nadeen’s attention to each attendee, we worked individually and together as a group to learn still life setups and capturing them in the best light. Getaways to surrounding locations and photo ops gave us other fresh subjects to explore (and the location was perfect!). This was not only a workshop for learning, but also a relaxing retreat to share with others, learn from others, and have time to reflect on our experiences. The lessons were so easy to understand and well laid out. There was a good mix of lecture vs. hands-on exercises. The handout booklets were helpful and beautiful. I loved all the props that were available for our use. All the field trips were great. I liked all of the locations. What I learned was very worthwhile.

Being an aspiring photographer I have admired Nadeen’s work since I discovered her website six years ago. Nadeen is able to take the simple elements of life and turn them into fine works of photographic art. It is always such a wonderful surprise to check Instagram and see what beautiful photo she will post next! When I decided to apply to the ClickPro program I reached out to Nadeen for help. Nadeen was able to help me see what elements were speaking as part of my artistic voice even though I was missing the cues. She was always there when I had questions and took the time to explain the “why” behind certain concepts and ideas. Nadeen’s guidance and coaching on what worked well with my photography was information I would have never gleaned from a book or a class. The 1:1 interaction via her mentorship was the key that unlocked many “ah ha” moments. Putting together a 100+ images for a portfolio can be overwhelming for a photographer the first time around. Nadeen helped guide (and many time cleared) the way for me to achieve my artistic goals. I couldn’t have done it without her and look forward to working with her again in the future.
