Autumn in Sacramento | northern California photographer

Sacramento is one of the cities in the United States that is known as the City of Trees.  With more trees per capita in the world, it is a well deserved name.  When you are in the midst of the city, it's not always apparent.  Yes, there are trees, but it doesn't seem like there's an over abundance.  However, when you have an overhead view as when flying over the city or even looking out the window of a high rise, that is when you get a real sense of the number of trees there.  That is especially true during autumn in Sacramento when the leaves are displaying their showy colors.  It really is quite a sight everywhere you go.

It was a somewhat foggy and overcast morning when I visited downtown in order to capture the trees of Sacramento. The sun was beginning to burn through the fog.        With the bright yellow leaves, it was easy to see the structure of the branches. Who doesn't love a pop of scarlet red?!  Colorful leaves high and low.
