Fences and Frost {Yuba City photographer}

Another early, cold morning found me exploring the countryside. Not many people were out and about. There was frost and ice all around. And quiet. The fences around a particular field intrigued me. Railroad ties. Cross posts. Metal pipe. Lots of barbed wire. I studied the fences covered in frost more closely. I thought of a life well-lived with a sturdy foundation, added support, some prickly protection, and modifications throughout the years.  So, I listened closely for the stories I'm sure it could tell. But, the silence of the morning dominated.
