Great Basin National Park

In my quest to visit as many national parks as I can, my route to Colorado included crossing Nevada and a visit to Great Basin National Park. Traveling on 'America's Loneliest Highway' didn't prove to be all that lonely as there were many more vehicles on that road than I expected. (I'm sure Covid-19 was partially responsible.) The scenery proved to be varied and really quite pretty. I tend to think of Nevada as relatively flat, but that was not the case. October was a beautiful month for traveling across Nevada on my way to photograph Colorado's fall color.

Sunrise at Great Basin National Park

Early morning at Great Basin National Park proved to be absolutely stunning with the fall color in full display. I arrived before sunrise and as the sun rose, the park transformed over and over first with very cool colors and then exploding into the beautiful oranges and yellows of autumn.
