As many times as I have been to Yosemite, I had never viewed the valley, Half Dome, and the glorious surroundings from Glacier Point. Until June. I made it a point to take the drive there. Twice! And, I was NOT disappointed! The view is incredible to say the least. See that little patch of brown/beige in the lower left of the image? Parking lot. That's how high we were to view this gorgeous landscape. Sunsetting on Half Dome from Glacier Point in cloudy Yosemite NP Although the light was rather flat when we arrived, Mother Nature took care of us with a little peek of setting sun resulting in beautiful alpenglow on Half Dome. She wears it well, don't you think?

Finally, the sun had set while the clouds remained. The moon rose while shrouded in clouds. Yet the entire area was gently illuminated. As we walked back to the car, I was reminded once again how grateful I am for the foresight of others to preserve these treasures of nature. Let's take good care of them.
