Viewpoints: My Blue Ridge Parkway View | northern California photographer
When my photographer friend, Kathy, invited me to come visit and shoot some landscape along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina with her and our friend Jennifer, there was no question I would go! I'd never been to that area of our gorgeous country before, but had always wanted to go. So, I didn't hesitate to say yes when the opportunity arose.Kathy planned our shooting excursions with contingency plans for 'just in case'. But everything worked out beautifully despite the rain and thunderstorms. On our first evening there, we headed out to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was covered in clouds and fog. But fortunately mother nature moved them right along and these are the resulting scenes. Gorgeous, aren't they? Layer after layer of mountaintops greeting us as far as the eye can see. They just disappeared into the distance.The icing on the cake was the beautiful blooming rhododendrons. Kathy timed it just perfectly for our visit as the 'rhodies' were in full bloom. What a memorable trip! And this was just the first day!
