Photography Workshop for Women

Have you ever thought about taking a photography workshop for women, or attending a photography retreat? Maybe you are at that point in your life where the kids are grown, and you've got the time to pursue something just for you. If photography is of interest, and a little getaway appeals to you, consider joining me on the northern California coast for my Life Exposed, still life photography workshop and retreat.I personally think that in-person workshops provide some of the best opportunities for learning. If the class size is small, and the instructor is attentive to your learning, you can feel assured of walking away with new skills, confidence in the subject, and perhaps a few new friends as well. photography workshop still life photographs for women's photography retreat

Points to Consider

Here are some things to look at when considering a workshop/retreat:

~  Does the person offering the workshop have any experience with teaching or sharing information? What is their background?~  Does their work reflect knowledge and expertise about the topic?~  What are the terms and cancellations policies for the workshop?~  What is covered with the fee? blackberries falling from spoon against a large bowl for the photography workshop for women

You can answer the above questions by taking a look around my website. But, let me summarize:

Background

My background is in teaching. I was a professional teacher for twenty years. I am trained to break down a subject and build on each level of information for those who are learning.

Knowledge & Expertise

My work has been published and on display in juried shows. A piece titled Salt & Spoons was a finalist in the 2016 VOICE competition held by Click & Company with over 30,000 entries. Another piece titled Flooded Road was also a finalist in the 2017 VOICE competition of over 40,000 entries. I've had several images on display at the Sacramento Fine Art Gallery, Viewpoints Photography Gallery in Sacramento, Roseville Library, and Roseville Chamber of Commerce. You can also find my work published in Chris McLaughlin's 'Growing Heirloom Flowers' available on Amazon. And, most recently, my article "Stills of the Night" in Click photography magazine (Jul-Aug 2018) available at Barnes & Noble.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the up front costs of the workshop, refunds are not available. But, you are welcome to sell your seat to someone else. I always encourage trip insurance to cover any unforeseen conflicts that may prevent you from attending. You must pay in full at time of registration unless other arrangements have been made with me.

Covered Expenses

Your lodging, food (except for one lunch), and all workshop expenses (props - food, flowers, entrance fees, etc.) are all covered with the fee.  You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the workshop location.
