Scabiosa Serenity | northern California photographer

It may not sound like a very serene name for this flower, but scabiosa or pincushion flower it is! As with many flower blossoms, these have such tiny details. They are especially highlighted here in that beautiful golden hour light. In the early morning or late evening, when the sun is very low, the gentleness of this flower is enhanced. I found scabiosa serenity in the evening garden when that delicious golden hour light shone on these delicate pincushion blossoms.

A garden must combine the poetic and the mysterious with a feeling of serenity and joy.
