Chocolate Chip Scones | northern California still life photographer
A very popular subject for still life photography is food. In fact, many people would consider food photography a genre of its own. And, I can see why. The style of photos for a cookbook or a restaurant menu can be quite different from images where food is the fine art or still life subject. Although I often photograph food as art, today I'm playing with scones as my subject. Basically, I just want you to feel like you'd like to eat them! Ha! I tried different colors with the props to create different feels. I think the reds have a more cheery feel. But the blues/browns are a bit more dramatic. I used the same basic principles for styling these as I noted in a previous post Still Life Photography Basics. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are you feeling like you'd like to have a couple of chocolate chip scones right now?
Chocolate Chip Scones
Scones with Drama :D
Enjoy a wonderful day... with maybe a scone or two! Because I like to keep things simple, I used the English Tea scone mix as my base. Then I added chopped walnuts and chocolate chips.
