Nest building is in full swing at the rookery in the preserve now. I observed this Great Egret in its breeding plumage fly to this general area, select a small branch/twig and then fly off to secure it into the nest nearby. Over and over and over. Na

When a friend said she discovered the location some foxes and suggested we go photograph them, I was all in! We combined this trip with the rushing grebes. (Posted on March 7) Needless to say, it was a great few days of photographing these creatures.
