This American Avocet was so intent on looking for food, I was easily able to photograph it through the weeds. The light was amazing as the sun rose, the colors made a gradual change from rather dark blue to a beautiful soft pink and orange.

Sandhill Cranes
Off they go! After milling around at sunrise, preening, and vocalizing, these cranes decided to take flight. It was absolutely breathtaking! They soar gracefully through the sky with their impressive wingspans and distinctive calls. N
