Two Edits, One Image

When I first started on my photography journey, I felt like I really didn't need to edit my images. I wanted my photos to show the scene as I saw it, and not necessarily as I felt it. And, like many new photographers (and seasoned ones), I wanted to spend my time behind the camera, not in front of the computer. But, I have since learned the importance of editing. So in the video below I'm showing you two edits of the same image.

Normally, when I photograph a subject, I know ahead of time what the mood will be, and how I will approach the editing. For this image, I knew I'd be demonstrating two different edits from the same image. So I kept my shooting very 'neutral'.

There are some steps I go through for every image. I always begin looking at the histogram, check the white balance and the noise level. Then I proceed with all the other sliders and tools to create the mood or feeling that I want to convey.
