Sanderlings - Heads Down, Butts Up

These amazing little products of nature are incredibly busy and fast! While on a very foggy photography meetup with some members of the
@norcalwomenphotographers group, we spent some time photographing sanderlings
Red shouldered hawk Mama feeds her baby a small lizard while Papa looks on. As we were zeroing in on the nest, Papa flew in with food for the chicks. He handed it over to Mama who then fed one of the chicks.

What’s better than one red naped sapsucker? Two! Both parents were keeping the babies fed, but the entrance/exit got a bit congested with all the comings and goings. Nature is amazing!
