Photographing Blackberries | Sacramento Still Life Photographer
I love this time of year in northern California for many reasons. But one big reason is because the farmers' markets are stuffed full of all the fresh, yummy produce you can imagine!
Bachelor Buttons | Dried Purple Flowers
Fresh in my garden, bachelor buttons self-seed every year. They make beautiful subjects for still life when fresh or dried.

Cemetery on the Coast | Sacramento Fine Art Photographer
Toward the top of the rolling hills near the coast, my friend and I discovered yet another cemetery that had been part of the community for a very long time. While the sun was shining maybe a bit too strongly and the breeze was blowing just perfectly, I felt such peace in this lovely location. The headstones in the cemetery were modest although there was plenty of evidence of love and remembrance. Many of the headstones were handmade/carved; some were painted, some were not. I don't usually convert my images, but this set seemed to tell the story best in black and white.
Kitchen Window View | still life photography
Finding the pretty in your everyday can seem a bit daunting. But, it's there if you look. I can see it especially well when I'm looking at the light. And, that's really what photography is about. Light. These photos of my kitchen sink window view were shot using back light.
