Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park
In the summer of 2022, I embraced an adventure unlike any other I’d ever been on. I boarded a small (10 people total) vintage boat, the DavidB built in 1929, to explore Glacier Bay, Alaska. It was a photographer’s trip/workshop with a knowledgeable photographer leading the workshop who offered suggestions for photographing Glacier Bay National Park and in-depth editing techniques.
Forests of the Northern California State Parks
Surrounding oneself with nature is a sure way to renew, de-stress, and relax. That is exactly how I felt while visiting the beautiful coast and forests of the Northern California State Parks last summer. Because it is a bit remote in many areas, there is no cell coverage and no internet.
Sandhill Cranes in the Valley | Nature in Northern California
As my interests evolved in photography subjects, I became interested in wildlife and, ultimately, birds. Because birds are everywhere, they are just such a great subject. Each year during the winter there are thousands of sandhill cranes in the valley who over-winter here.
We Went for the Eagles | Northern California Nature Photographer
I was inspired to seek out and photograph bald eagles during the winter months when they were known to be seen in Northern California. Given that their numbers were in jeopardy a few years ago, it is so rewarding to know that efforts to assist improving their numbers has been successful.
Macro Photography in the Redwoods
Where ever we go in nature, there are photography subjects everywhere. Some are grand landscapes, while others might be tiny macro subjects. The redwood forests of Northern California are bursting with opportunities for both of these and everything in between. Join experienced workshop mentors Nadeen Flynn Photography and Amy Ames Photography for this amazing adventure!
