Manzanar Relocation Center is one of ten ‘internment’ camp locations of the 40’s after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and thus pulled us into WWII. Immigrants and CITIZENS of the USA with Japanese heritage were all required to leave their homes and belongings.
Tulips Galore | Don’t Mind the Mud
As I approached the fields upon fields of tulips, I was completely amazed. The landscape full of tulips seemed to go on forever; as far as I could see. Clearly these tulip fields had been well planned and certainly well cared for. But, the surprising thing to me was that they didn't appear to be commercial production. They appeared to be for the sole enjoyment of those who were fortunate enough to visit. Me being one of those lucky people!
Death Valley in Winter 2024
I was especially enthused about this visit to Death Valley because of the appearance of Lake Manly which is in some years a dried lake bed full of mud cracks and salt patterns. Beautiful in their own right. But, the occurrence of a hurricane last fall created a wealth of water in the Valley, and so Lake Manly came to life once again as it does so periodically.
We Went for the Eagles | Part 2, Northern California Nature Photographer
Wet and windy weather did not stop us. We took full advantage of our location and carefully drove to various areas searching for eagles, finding other wildlife and beautiful landscapes. It was a good day for getting out in nature.
