One of the treasures I hold dear is a handwritten cookbook of my grandmother's. Because she has been gone for over twenty years, it is even more special. It is faded, stained, and falling apart. But between those frayed covers there is a gold mine of memories of holidays and family suppers and moments shared.

Sacramento is one of the cities in the United States that is known as the City of Trees. With more trees per capita in the world, it is a well deserved name. When you are in the midst of the city, it's not always apparent. Yes, there are trees, but it doesn't seem like there's an over abundance.
