Tulips Every Way | Fields, Gardens or Vases
Making the drive to a tulip garden, I was eagerly anticipating photographing them. I think Spring is finally arriving in Northern California, and so too is tulip season. Tulips in fields, gardens, or vases, it doesn’t really matter to me. I love them all and in every way.
I never met a tulip I didn’t like. In fact, for a very long time, tulips have been my favorite flower. There is competition for that spot now, but they are still right up there.
A couple years ago, I took a trip to Oregon to visit one of the tulip fields there. Acres and acres of tulips were blooming in every direction I looked. It felt like tulip heaven. I managed to photograph there for two days, and it wasn’t too much.
I don’t really have much else to say about these lovely flowers. Diverse. Colorful. Structured. Lines. Form. Beautiful! I love them all!

(Yes, you can quote me on that.)
To everything, there is a season. This is Tulip season!
Here are some of the many tulips I’ve photographed over the years… in fields, in gardens, and in vases. Tulips every way!

It’s past time to tear out the gardens - both the floral cutting garden and the vegetable garden. (My tomatoes are going crazy!!!) After all, it’s November! But, each time I go out to the garden and assess what I need to get started removing the old plants, I see bees, ladybugs, and butterflies. I just cannot begin to remove their food source.
