Capturing September: A Look Back Through my Lens
Oh, my!!! Trying to get caught up… I’m so far behind!
September came and went in a whirlwind, but not without leaving behind quiet stories, unexpected beauty, and fleeting moments that deserved to be shared. As I search through the images captured in September, I can appreciate all that the month held for me. Although I didn’t get out to shoot daily nor as often as I like, it was still a rich month for photography.
Here in Northern California, September brings full summer weather and activities. With many children heading back to school and family vacations now memories, there’s a sense of things, routines changing.
Photography has a way of anchoring time, giving us something to return to long after the feeling has passed. Looking at these images now, I’m reminded of how important it is to slow down and notice everything in my surroundings. To capture, not just what we see, but what we feel, and to appreciate all that is around us.
Adventures in September 2025
Although I had lots of little photography moments, my trip to Wyoming reaped so many photos both wildlife and landscapes. But first a trip to a local clydesdale ranch with the Northern California Women Photographers’ group.
At the end of my trip, I took some time to play with in-camera double exposures.
