Baking Cookies for Christmas | Northern California still life photographer

I wonder how baking cookies for Christmas became such a strong tradition? Certainly, enjoying sweets with our family has been around for a long time. But, now it seems that we gift our baked goods to one another or even participate in cookie exchanges during the Christmas season. Sharing food or a meal together equals love. A gift of food, in this case cookies, is an expression of love and good cheer during the holidays and throughout the year. Do you have some 'must bake' cookies that are a tradition for your family? Do you add new recipes each year? I do a little of each. I just cannot let those tried-and-true cookies go. And, there are always new ones to try. But, it is beginning to get to the point that some eliminations must be made. How do you decide? Have fun baking and gifting your holiday treats this season and during every part of the year.

Baking Cookies for Christmas

‘Tis the season for a flurry of flour and sugar! Baking cookies for Christmas is not just about making sweet treats; it’s a cherished tradition that brings joy and warmth to homes around the world. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and fill your kitchen with the delicious scent of freshly baked cookies.

Make sure you have all the necessary tools and ingredients, from cookie cutters to parchment paper, to ensure smooth sailing in your cookie baking adventures. And remember, a glass of milk is a non-negotiable accessory.

Why not document the process and the results? Keep your camera nearby and remember to pick it up or keep it on a tripod for a few quick clicks of this cozy holiday tradition. See some of my tips for photographing food here.

Baking Cookies Over the Years

Although I have scaled back my cookie baking for the Christmas season in recent years, it’s still a tradition I plan to keep.
