Project 365, 2022, Weeks 33, 34 & 35

Project 365, 2022, Week 33 consists of birds and flowers, yes, once again. By now I’m sure you can tell which weeks are mostly spent near home and which are not. All but the owl were taken in my yard. She was shyly perched up in the shadows of a variety of cypress tree. Although she flew around, she stayed close to these trees and found places to perch mostly out of our view. There were actually several in these trees, but they are masters of hiding. I felt lucky to have photographed her without any branches in the way.

Week 33

Week 34 included a trip to the coast and a trip to a friend’s lake house, as well as home. The shipwreck is a popular one in the area and is deteriorating quickly. I wonder how much longer it will be around. She’s always a willing subject and I have enjoyed photographing her over the years at Point Reyes National Seashore. My friend took me kayaking in order to photograph the birds on the water. That was a new, fun experience! She also set up a feeding station to lure the wild birds to her yard. Back at home, a photo of my cantaloupes and some magpies hanging out.

Week 35 included some wild birds from the sanctuary about an hour from my home and images closer to home. My friend, Heidi, set up a meetup to the wild bird sanctuary for the Northern California Women Photographers’ group. (If you’re a female and would like to join our group for meetups, sharing, inspiration, and photography information, you can find us on Facebook.)
